Could you present us the package of this new release called реактор 4?

Our new release – package features inside:

 — two (2) soft cover books, sixteen (16) pages each.

1. Main book -velvet 270g cover, 170g body.
2. Extra book -mat 250g cover, 150g body.

 — three (3) A5, 350g design puzzle card postal.

 — Main CD – реактор 4 contains five audio tracks.

This is the main CD that features the new music of Талос. 

 — Extra mini CD : Талос – внимание. внимание in English means « attention », and it’s a 10 minute composition of abstract electronics in a 8cm CD, inspired by the last SOS message that was sent from the Nuclear Station in Ukraine.

 — Vinyl 7 » contains the tracks: Принцип дублирования and развиваться

The vinyl is included in the enhanced version of реактор 4. It’s a very special disk that contains the first two tracks of the EP (edited) and it’s also handmade. That’s why it’s limited in copies.

Why did you choose the Chernobyl disaster as an inspiration for this project?

Between infinity ∞ (our first release) and +positive and – negative spaces (our future double release) comes реактор 4 (present release). It is a prespecified route between fiction and quantum incidents, events and real scientific disasters.

So the concept behind реактор 4 was to land back on earth at Ukraine of the past, 26 April 1986, from the hyper imaginary world of the ∞ infinity and take a look of what the nuclear energy is capable to do in humanity, before we set our engines again back to hyperspace and visit + and – spaces.

After all, it is our concept that leads the aesthetics of Talos. The Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine is such an inspiration because there are still marks from the explosion of reactor 4, both in the body and soul. The latest disaster in Japan, reminds to everyone the older one in Ukraine. It’s a chance for us to speak through art, about how people are manipulated by many fierce ways by the so called authority. It’s good to experiment. But why has to be on peoples’ lives?

On the other hand, it has to do with the nuclear energy and of course quantum physics. That’s the concept behind our first release.

The vibration of this EP is Dark but how would you define the style of music (Idm….)?

The music is dark and melancholic. After all, it’s our belief that, minor scales combined with abstract performances and timbres, are the best way to express yourself through a composition. To tell something that is important and has to be listened and be considered. We use also bass player in our compositions and live performances. Programs like MaxMSP are also a part of our creation.

We don’t really tag our music. If it is sounds like IDM, you can call it IDM. It is, of course, electronic music.

Can people buy only the tracks on iTunes or whatever or is it strictly a physical release?

You can purchase our album via our site www.talos-project.info as a physical release in three different versions. The enhanced version is available also from the Ad Noiseam store.

Are there some other upcoming projects?

Of course. As we mentioned above, “+ and – spaces” comes after “реактор 4” .We have been crafting our next release before the “реактор 4” EP. It will be a vast project because it is an artistic report of our previous two albums.

If there is inspiration and imagination, there will be art. Both for the eyes and ears and eventually for the inside of every human that some will call soul.

Hi man…Could you introduce your 2 new projects, a personal EP and a featuring EP with C.brain ? Who are the beatmakers ? Where did you record the tracks?
Hello my friend.First of all the past year my bro C.brain and I managed to come up with a few tunes for our ‘Misanthrope‘ project and decided to randomly upload and share them. We liked all of them and decided to give them away as a 6-track ep including intro and outro tunes. 4 of the tracks are produced by C.brain and 2 by me (the outro tune and « Η πτώση είναι ανοδική).

My solo project, entitled « Mantis Kalhas str. » is produced by me (like the first one) including scratches by Dj Joon and features by C.brain,Nek, Akel and Erks Orion. It’s a mix of old/new beats and verses. As for the mixing/mastering part, for both projects, I just tried to do my best with what I’ve got here in my room.

On your personal EP you also have some Featurings with Cbrain and Nek. Do you always like to work with a crew ?
Yes, when « real recognizes real » this is a motivation to keep it moving… I respect the music and the ideas behind the music of each artist I work with. I’ve done a few mistakes, which I won’t regret though, because it’s worth taking a few risks… I love working with people who respect their work and have dignity. And I definitely prefer not doing it all on my own.
I had a few guitar jams with Giannis Kavakas which I recorded and worked on to come up with 2 beats for my solo ep. The artwork is designed by Aggeliki Gigi -recomended from Aggelos P. Shortly, it’s not really a crew but a few people building with me and supporting me just for the love of it.

 
You’re known as a conscious MC. What are the main subjects of those tapes ?
Thanks, I guess. On the other hand I don’t really care being recognized as « conscious » or even as a « mc » by people who don’t really know me or feel what I’m talking about… I’ve encountered many hypocritical acts behind the « conscious » label. There is nothing more than music man, all the rest is what you express/support in life. You can’t be a « veggan » mc and eat bacon all day. The subjects from my older verses (2006) till the year of the release (2012) express the same worries and attempts for some brain-feeding info…

In my solo project the Intro refers to the way people spread fear and hate, finding comfort in « end of the world » theories while it’s actually their shallowness that brings us as one step closer to the end . Then, I express my ideals in this hellish life with C.brain. Right after, I present « Mister no one » speaking about trust in the fellow human being in this world which brings forth sadistic images and thoughts about human embarrassment and the whole « sex » industry.. Afterwards, I’m talking with my man Nek about how cold things get, expressing the myths on which this system is built and the random citizen’s perspective on life ,just like we did with « Πυρπόληση » and « It’s too cold » as well.

I’ve been thinking about writing down some more stuff to explain why I keep talking about the same things. I gave an answer through « Είπα να γράψω« . As for the misanthrope ep, it’s our crude way of facing everything we’ve been exposed to. Trying to help everyone think freely and recognize their inner self independently from everything they’ve seen by human beings in place of the basic teachings, which can get someone out of this alive, and stick to their beliefs embracing them with their whole existence.
We should be united and able to express our minds against the common enemies of free will, equality and rationality. Thousands of innocent victims die so we keep on living and irreversibly connecting our lives to this political/monetary system and propaganda since our tender age to end up a misanthrope. See, it’s normal to avoid other people, or not give a shit about them or what they gotta say , that’s what makes everyone a misanthrope. If you survive in this system, then you’ve been there no matter if you’re aware of it or not.

What where the main musical influences of those tapes ?
Everything I’ve heard and nothing special. Some schizo-noises to chill out and some chopped guitars. Samples from artists I admire mixed with destructed virtual instruments, guitars and scratches. Maybe some reggae elements, thanks to Nek. Still experimenting and looking forward to combining the genres I always loved way more.

What about your projects in 2013 ?
Definitely a fresh misanthrope ep which is already on the works. I gathered 10 beats (some old some new same formula stays true) that I really like for my next solo project and we’ll see what happens till i get to work on it..Right now I’m waiting the final cut from a 6 tune ep with Akel (Chile) which we’ve been working for a long time and it seems like we’re finally getting there. The « Talk ain’t cheap » ep with BigHell is always at the back of my head but it turned out to be a ‘ghost’ project after all this time. But hopefully I’ll share this too.

First of all, could you tell us why you called this EP « Gates To The Unknown »?

The first thing is that almost all the songs I produced turn around a range of 3 dimensions : dreams, aliens and states of consciousness or states of unconsciousness.
I can say that titles of the EP and of its songs can bring us to two different but parallel levels of meaning: a personal level and a musical level. These two have a common denominator: the research.
Staying on the musical level, the world « unknown » refers to the dimension of experimentation I make when I play: I want to combine more different styles and genres in my songs, to do a personal and inedited thing . I don’t like to make  too many tracks closed, ghettoized in their own genre; I want to do some kind of hybrid, unknown sound. (I want to reiterate that it is an evolving research. I haven’t reached the point of arrival…yet! ). 
The world « gates », instead, represents the possibilities and the different realities, seen like the inside of doors: there are various styles and genres, some that I have already exceeded, some which I’m still entering in, and some for which I still haven’t the key. But maybe “I will find” it…
For the second level, the personal level, the title « Gates To The Unknown » recalls the research of an unknown kind of life, the alien life. From this point of view, tracks titles take on another meaning. For example, « I will find you » declare that I’m searching for it (in the visual, the girl is looking for something that is outside of the picture, invisible, unseizable, unknown); and « Ouy Dnif Lliw I » is because sometimes I found it.

You have a very personal style man! how could we define your music for this EP? Is it some kind of mix between Dubstep, Glitch, Ambient and Jungle?

Yes, in this EP there is a mix of the genres you have identified, in an IDM-format; but there are also some 2step drums, kick gabber and many little references from other genres.

The 3 tracks sound very « mystical ». Could you talk to us about the influences of this EP and in general about the influences of your music (books, movies, music, painting….)
?

When I was working on these tracks, I especially listened to ambient music and its allied, like « Tangerine Dreams – The seven letters from tibet  » ,  » Brian Eno – Another green world », « Aphex Twin – Selected ambient vol 2″,  » Ólafur Arnalds – Found songs » and  » global communication – 76:14 « . 
But in my Ipod there were also Amon Tobin, Trentemøller, Autechre, Fahrenheit Project, Kruder & Dormeister and too many other artists to be able to write here.
But music isn’t the only inspiration of my work. 
Concerning movies, I have to thank in particular “Waking Life”, “A Scanner Darkly” and “Matrix”.
I’m quite ignorant about painting and sculpture; but I often read some books dealing with psychology (I’m studying Psychology at University ), aliens (like: « Peter Kolosimo – Not of this world” or « Landsburg – The outer space connection « etc) and dreams (like « Umberto Di Grazia – Dimensione Sogno”); and other books dealing with the way to take control of dreams, to make lucid dreams, and with nocturnal self-hallucinations, etc . I’m not saying that all the topics of the books or documentaries are good, some of them might be bullshit but I think it’s still great to develop reasoning and inspiration.
Reading all these things consecutively, it might suggest that my interests revolve only around music, dreams and aliens… and it is not totally wrong.

The art-work is also very personal and dreamy. Who made it and how did he/she work on it?


The artist is my girlfriend, in art Demi. I asked her to draw a cover for the EP, and we worked on the subject while we were on a train, coming back from Amsterdam, this summer. I explained her why did I choose those two samples and which images they recall to my mind. She started sketching up the impressions given to her by my worlds, and then she worked  directly listening to the tracks of the EP. The first figure she drew was the girl, looking far away, out from the picture. She said she was using a female figure because it had to be  elegant and fragile. Then, she added some creepy figures on the back of the girl, a kind of tragic destroyed Gregorians. The songs are a background, a musical accompaniment for the girl’s research. Gregorians emerge from other planets, and their apparent pain can be spread only through their songs.
In the remaining hollow space of this white, motionless universe, we can see lifeless planets floating: everything seems to be hanging, in suspense; waiting for something new, something important and meaningful. The common link between all these planets are cables, growing like a wild ivy, going in and out of the rocks and of the Gregorians too.
We agreed the final pencil version into an Irish pub, and so she completed the picture at  home with china 0.7, 0.3, 0.2, 0.05

What are your upcoming projects?

In output order  we’ll soon release the first video of the UFO prcjt (an electronic-rap project with SoulSwitchOn), for the song called « Still Raining »;
 Then, will  publish another low-cost-video, from this ep, for the song « Ouy Dnif Lliw I”;
In the near future i will be release my second album, containing « Still Raining  » 
- later, will be the turn of the second EP, with a techno imprint.
All these project are already finished, it just requires a few time to tune it.
- moreover, I’m finishing my third EP, where I’m not employing the usual 4/4 time signature.
Of course if you have read the answers above, you can already imagine the three topics that you’ll find in those projects.

Do you prefer working alone or are you searching for some featurings?


Working alone is easier than working with other people  because you are the only one who makes decisions: times, obiectivies, risorses etc; but it’s also true that a teamwork is more stimulating.
 Actually, I’m carrying out many projects, alone and in team: like Fahrenheit 451 (SoulSwitchOn, Charly and I), Ufo Prjct (me and SoulSwitchOn), and other collaborations with my brother (pianist for nearly 20 years), and with friends or other people that I met. Musically, many of them are very similar to what I do alone, and other are very different (for example, a collaboration is with a jazz-band, and another one is with a compositor of classical music).

Hi guys, good to have some news..what about this second Album Called « Ferry Tales? When and Where will it be released?

Yo men, « Ferry Tales » is a project of a dozen tracks completely made up of featurings. it will be released in free download in October on corsbros.com

What is the main subject of this Album? Is it a conscious Album entirely or are there some new topics?
Yes, this project is totally conscious, and it is not ready to change. However, consciousness does not mean repetition, far from there, there are too many things to be said…
In this album, we speak about new topics that inspired us. We joined them with older ones that we still develop in our lyrics.
Everything is connected but we prefered, for this project, not to limit ourselves to a precise central theme.

Who are the artists featured on this album? Heard that there were some artists coming from switzerland, Italy…..
This project is the result of trips we made and visits we received : that’s why the album is called « Ferry Tales ».
But we also invited other artists simply because we enjoy their music and their message.
There is of course the whole Cors Bros crew : Krimophonik, Torpa, La vermine (Ed Bazz & Nocive), but also Futta, Nellio (K-trième dimension), La Plume (Dernier rempart), Phylo Mic, Nemo, and the italian crew Casa degli specchi (Alex Antonov, Roggy Luciano & Janeosa).

Also heard about the collab with many DJ’s and Beatmakers. You changed the way you work on this Album?
No, we have not specifically changed the way we work because we believe there is not only one way to do it. The concept of the project is to bring together all the artists we enjoy collborating with. As for the Mc’s, sometimes the stuff was programmed and sometimes it came intuitively. But beats and cuts are both fat !

Where did you record this album?
We largely recorded this project in our little home studio in Ajaccio and also where the ferry brought us.

Are you going to play this album on stage in corsica or in other places?
Unfortunately, it is difficult to bring all these people at once, but of course we’ll play Ferry tales’s tracks as soon as we will have the opportunity in Corsica and everywhere.

After « 5mori » are you going to make another video Clip?
Yes, we will do other clips but maybe not from this project. You will have to wait a bit longer.

All your projects are free downloadable. Don’t you want to make money with your music?
We don’t make music for the money. For now, free downloading is very suitable for us. It allows everyone to hear our message. It is more logical to earn some money doing liveshows or selling cd’s (physical release) than with a digital release. This is what we think. Even if the message and the work are the same, costs are not…

Do you work on other projects upcoming soon?
We are always preparing projects but you will never hear us talking about it before they are ready to listen.

What about the Corsbros Crew…Any news?
Krimophonik is going to turn out the first project of his band « Orbeats » with Dj Tricks (who’s the other part of it), on September 30th . »La Vermine« , the same day, will turn out a project in collaboration with their homey Olinsha. All those projects are available in free download.
